Sore throat after surgery

How long does the sore throat pain stop after surgery? It's been less than a week but my throat is the worst part of the surgery. It hurts when I swallow. Popsicles help but I am not supposed to have more than two. Is it just normal for you to have a sore throat this long after?

My sore throat went away after four days; it was from the intubation and/or the tools to measure the stomach. If you're worried I'd give the surgeon a call.

Thanks Donna, I'm not worried I'm just aggravated by it since I am afraid to have a throat lozenger just yet.

probly normal but I would check with surgeon , there may be strep in the hospital and after taking antibiotics during surgery , you are more prone too get it

I think mine lasted for at least a week. I would check with your surgeon just to make sure he feels it's normal.

mine lasted for almost 3 weeks.. it wasn't bad after the first few days, just weird as i wasn't anticipating it as a side effect from the anesthesia.

They probably just scratched your throat when they put that tube down for you to breath. It'll go away soon
