What to eat when you don't feel like eating?
Hi all! 9 weeks out from VSG and loving life. Weird question: we all have our days where we don't really feel like eating, but know we have to. I just don't have a taste for any of the options around my office. Does anyone else get that feeling occasionally? What do you eat when you don't feel like eating?

I had one for breakfast, so I'd like something a little more solid for lunch...I'm thinking a burger without the bun, but I'm just kind of 'meh' about the whole lunch thing.

Luckily for me, a lot of the places around my office are "fast" food in that you get your food quickly, but it's not all McDonald's or Burger King. I actually have stayed away from those places for the most part. I'm thinking of getting a lunch fajitas at the local Tex-Mex joint (without the tortillas, of course) and bringing the leftovers home.

Sorry, I originally read this as 9 months (not 9 weeks). Protein shakes and sugar free popsicles were what I would always go to. Even at 9 weeks I think I was still only around 500 calories.

At about that time, I had weeks where I didn't feel like eating. The thought of food made me queasy - not sick, but the thought of food was unpleasant. I ate whatever I had planned. Chicken, tuna salad, cold cuts and cheese, etc. I pushed thru it. I think it is important to get the protein in because it is important to healing.
Good luck. What you are feeling is totally normal.

Luckily I'm not feeling queasy or sick, I'm just kind of ambivalent when it comes to what to eat for lunch. I'm hungry, so I know I SHOULD eat, it's just a matter of WHAT to eat that's the issue! I'm thinking a lunch fajita platter from the local Tex-Mex joint (hold the tortillas) will do the trick--all protein, and I can bring the leftovers home to hubby.

When I'm not really hungry I always seem to be able to eat a string cheese. I can make it last a long time, and the flavor is very mild.
