Smar****ch to replace a pedometer?

I have shelved my Fitbit Flex. I just can't stand the dots instead of actual numeric data, and I hate checking my phone. Lost my Fitbit Ultra, but I liked that one. Consequently, I decided to try a Smar****ch. Fingers crossed it works great as a pedometer, and helps to solve a few other issues that I have when I check texts or email. Just wondering if anyone out there uses one and how they like it. Expecting mine in the mail in the next two days, and I went with the Zenwatch 2 since it is only a tad bit more than a decent pedometer and can go in the shower. If you have one, how do you like it?

I have the Apple Watch and I like it pretty well. I use it mostly for the activity tracking and messaging. I like the heart rate tracking on it too. I'm not convinced that the calorie burning data is completely accurate, so I take that with a grain of salt. It's supposed to be water resistant, but I don't take it into the shower, especially when I have the leather band on it.

I was reading about some new fitness apps that are coming out that will be better at tracking things like stretching and weight lifting and a friend told me about a sleep tracking app she found. I had a FitBit too, but like you I didn't like the dots so much. Let us know what you think of the Zenwatch!

I looked at Apple, but then my wallet didn't want to cooperate. ;) The Zenwatch 2 does not offer the heart rate option, but that is not something I would use so it was not a loss for me. I totally get why many do use it though. Shower is important- I only want to take it off to charge, becaue I will forget to put it back on! I am utterly in the dark about apps that work well with a smar****ch, so I have some homework to do. Thank you for the reply!

I read in someone's review that they can use the model I bought in a similar fashion. I would love to be able to trigger the gps while in the car in that manner, or verbally dictate a text. But- I can't afford to mess with the watch to trigger the functions, so unless it is crazy easy to trigger not sure if I would use it while driving. Now pulled over or something to set it up, for sure!

I currently use an LG G Watch (Android), and previously used a Pebble. LOVE it! My Android isn't really waterproof (I can wash my hands with it, but I can't wear it swimming like I did with the Pebble), but it does damn near everything. The pedometer is fairly accurate and it works nicely with Google Fit!

I think the best part is being able to talk to it. I can send texts when I'm driving, or pull up navigation when I'm on the road and get lost.

I've swapped watch straps on it a few times, and I change my watch face fairly often. I just swapped out a Hello Kitty one in favor of Pac-Man, and I've got some other more serious ones that are great as well.

I hadn't seen the Zenwatch, which is kind of surprising since my husband is an Android dev. That's a great price! I may have to think about that one as a Christmas gift for my Dad.

I was hoping you woud pipe in on the thread Sparkle, as you have a good techie background. I almost went with a Pebble. Never heard of Google Fit so I will look that up, thanks for dropping the name! The Zenwatch 2 can take a standard band so swapping bands is super easy. I hope so- as I don't like mannish looking bands and no clue what this will actually look like on. Now I am really looking for it to arrive!

When you load up the Android Wear watch app for the first time, Google Fit will pop up as one of the recommended apps, it's not hard to find.

Changing bands is way easier if you get a little tool for pulling the strap pins out, I paid five bucks for mine on Amazon. I have a few that I rotate between, a white leather one, a black rubber one with a silver buckle, and a black NATO strap with a red stripe on it.

Thanks! I found the app, and will order a tool. At the moment what I cannot seem to locate is a place to buy another charger to keep at work. Still working on figuring out how to maximize the watch, but so far so good! I was amazed that I could actually read the email, but dismayed that when I dictated a reply it was then automatically sent. Uh, I have visions of the auto correct sending of a porn message to one of my students' parents so won't being using that again anytime soon. Or at least not or work.

Pedometer worked great! The alarm didn't go off this morning or maybe when it did it was such a light vibrate it didn't wake me. Found the different face choices, so they are loaded and ready to go. Having fun with it so far, and already like it enough that I am glad I bought it. :)
