Goal Weight (well at least my surgeon's goal)
Today I reached my goal weight given to me by my surgeon last year. I expected more fanfare but in reality I knew it was coming. I weigh twice a day and I knew last night I would hit goal today.
I started at 537 and am now at 250 which is 75% of my EW. This is 11 months after surgery and 13 months after I started my pre-op diet.
I plan to have skin surgery in December pending insurance approval. It doesn't cause me a problem, more a vanity thing. I then plan to have an "all around", thighs, chest, and arms done sometime next year (have to save for those).
I have decided to set a new goal of 200 lbs since why not and I still have excellent restriction.
That's so amazing! Congratulations. My husband is struggling with the skin surgery idea, even though he understands it's very necessary for him. He's not quite at goal weight yet, but soon. Good luck!

Great job. Very impressive. The surgery helps but I know it is still a lot of work and discipline to lose that much weight.

Stalls are your body's way of telling you not to get too cocky.

My surgeon's goal for me also was 250. At 6'3", I wanted to go lower. My own first goal was 225, then 200. I settled just below 190.
For what my opinion is worth, You should hold off on plastics until you reach a stable weight. Even after you reach your final weight, your body will continue to moh for a while. I think you'll be a lot happier with the final result if you delay for a while.
Great job though!

I am SOOO happy for you. Wow. To lose over 250 pounds in less than a year is exceptional. Great job working that sleeve.
Usually the plastic surgeon wants people to be at their goal weight and maintaining for a while before doing the surgery. This gives the best results. If you have surgery and then lose another 50 pounds, you may have some additional loose skin.
Again congratulations on your weight loss. You are an inspiration.
