What to eat at two months out? My nutricionist is not much of a help and I am confused and...
Hello! What is everybody eating at eight weeks post op? My nutritionist is very bad at her job and has cancelled my appointment twice after surgery. I feel a bit lost with my meals and do not know what to eat. I know it is proteins first but would like to read about your meals and how much weight you guys have lost.
At 8 weeks post op, all I had room for was protein. I don't remember exactly, but I think I was eating about 1.5 to 2 ounces of dense protein per meal, and supplementing with chicken broth with protein powder to make my protein numbers.
I remember eating cold cuts wrapped around low fat cheese sticks, scrambled eggs, deviled eggs, tuna with a little mayo, and rotissary chicken with a little mayo or salad dressing. I wasn't allowed beef or por****il 3 months post op.
I don't think I had room for veggies until 5 or 6 months post op, and it was wonderful to have the variety of eating veggies and casseroles again. I also ate plain greek yogurt with protein powder and artificial sweeteners.
best of luck,
Carol

Check out the daily "what are you eating" threads, that can give you some good ideas.
At 8 weeks, I was onto full solids but couldn't eat very much. One piece of string cheese, 1oz of chicken with some sauce, half a small carton of Greek yogurt, a teeny cup of tuna salad. Roughly 500-600 cal and 60g protein.

2 months out I was still eating soft foods. Stomach is still in the healing stage. Take new foods very slowing. I too was drinking mostly my protein shakes, cottage cheese, SF puddings, green beans, sweet potatoes, variety of creamed soups, tuna, cheese rolled up in turkey and talapia. I'm 10 months post op and I've lost 69 lbs. Christine
At eight weeks post-op, I was eating proteins and cooked veggies. Mostly lots of steak, burgers, casseroles, seafood, chicken, etc. sized to 3 oz portions, and then some cooked veggies if I had room. The "Whatcha Eating" threads are great for inspiration! I have so far lost 55 lbs. since surgery 3 months ago. I'm happy.

Didn't read the responses yet, so please forgive me if I am repeating. First, stomach acid can mimic hunger. If you are not on a PPI it may be worth a try. Food options- I am a very lazy cook. I know how, I just don't like to spend a lot of time doing it. I kept on hand at all times quick, easy options. Trader Joes is awesome for this if you have one near you. Here is a partial list of my go to items:
cheese sticks (low fat)
lunch meat, uncured
cottage cheese
tunafish on a bed of spinach
proteins shakes, breakfast most every day
Rotissierie chicken from Costco, chicken used in a multitude of formats for stir fry, sandwiches (low carb tortilla), salad, etc.
eggs
greek yogurt (ff, light, Dannon)
premade Trader joe protein options like uncured hot dogs, meatballs, etc. loads of options
shrimp (cooks in 5 minutes, tons of protein and low cal)
seafood in general
Protein first, green veggies next in small amounts. I stick to items low on the glycemic index, including some fruit (mostly berries).

I'm three months out and still eat where I was at two months. 3-4 ounces of dense protein a meal (usually 3, but fish I usually eat 4), 1/2 cup of cottage cheese or yogurt, sometimes other dairy. I often still have a protein shake in the morning.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Here is my 8 week to the day meal.
Hi!
I'm not sure if anyone mentoined an app that wuold give general suggestions based on the time that has passed since surgery. I didn't use it pre-op myself, but at the moment it is helpful, and is called bariatric iq.
Had surgery at Nordbariatric, with surgeon A. Maleckas.
