Measuring Apparatus?

I'll parrot what everyone else has said -- get a food scale. I found I was consistently overestimating my protein weights. What I thought was a 4-ounce portion turned out to weigh 2-3 ounces when I took the time to weigh it. I cook in a tiny galley on a boat, but there's always room for my scale.

I almost never used measuring cups, but a kitchen scale is vital. Weighing food is much more accurate for portions than cups or spoons. I never even used the scoops that came with protein powder. If a serving was 30 grams, I weighed 30 grams on the scale.

As White Dove said, MyFitnessPal, a Fitbit, and kitchen scale. I use all three every day.

My surgeon sent me home with a big stack of 1oz medicine cups for measuring out liquid for the first few days post-op. I also have 2oz and 5oz glass measuring cups that I use quite frequently even 7 months after surgery, as well as normal measuring cups. I use Wean Green glass storage containers to portion out my meals, I bought a set that has 2, 4 and 6oz containers with plastic sealing lids, they are technically for baby food but they work out great for portioning leftovers out for lunches.

Measuring cups, Measuring spoons and invest in a good, highly rated digital scale. I could not imagine being successful without those three things!

Good luck next week!

Of course measuring spoons and cups are essential.  I love my food scale though, I use it every day.

Love my digital food scale!  I would say it's the most important meauring tool besides having a couple sets of measuring spoons on hand.

Food scale is essential to managing what I eat.  If I don't weigh it, I always overestimate it.  Here's the scale I use:

It's small, sleek and accurate.
