Measuring Apparatus?

I know measuring my food for the rest of my life is critically important to success.  I want to ensure I have everything I need after surgery to be successful.  With surgery coming up a week from Thursday...I'm thinking of all kinds of questions!

Have you found any measuring vessels that you simply could not live without or do you just use good ol' measuring cups?

Is a food scale important?

Thanks!!

I use my food scale for everything.  It's what I recommend!

Food scale and measuring cups and spoons

I measure by weight rather than volume.  So I bought a little food scale that folds up and fits in a drawer.

Here's the link on amazon.  http://www.amazon.com/Joseph-TriScale-Compact-Folding-Digital/dp/B0091QO41U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443479874&sr=8-1&keywords=joseph+food+scale

If I measured by volume, I use regular old measuring cups.

Best of luck with your upcoming surgery.  You'll do great, and you'll love the results.

best wishes,

Carol

I love the concept of that scale and tried to order it, but it is out of stock.  Hope it is back soon.

I think a good digital food scale is vital for getting portions correct.  I also rely on some online/smartphone apps for getting accurate nutritional information.

Two more things you need are My Fitness Pal and a Fitbit type activity tracker.

Check and Check!

I've been using MFP since Thursday trying to get into the habit.  I also ordered a FitBit (watch style) about a month ago so that I had time to get familiar with it.

Happy to hear I did what you recommend.
