I finally can introduce myself. My name is Tanya and I' ve been following this site for 3 years. Yep, that's how long I've been researching WLS. I was a guest for two of those years and last December I joined as a member. Last July, my sister died suddenly. She was obese and her cause of death was given as untreated asthma, pneumonia and a blood clot to the leg. In other words they are not sure. She was 62 years and a vibrant woman and her death made me question my life. I'm 38 years and last year I reached my highest weight of 290lbs. It was time to get off the fence on WLS. So October 19th 2014 my primary faxed a referral to the bariatric department at the Montreal General Hospital ( I'm from Quebec, Canada) and April 2015, I had my Information Session. September 15th 2015, I met with the Bariatric Surgeon Dr. Aggarwal, the Dietician and the Bariatric Nurse. Yesterday, I got the call that my surgery is booked for the 16th December 2015. I was so excited and then the nerve**** Can you be excited, nervous and scared, all at the same time? My next dietician appointment is the 29th and then my Optifast info session is the 01st October.Okay, I think I'm starting to go overboard, all this to say, I'm a newbie, I look forward to participating on the forum and hopefully if everything works out, I'll be a December sleever

Good luck on your WLS journey.

It is making a big difference in my life.

Before surgery, I never would have done a 5k.  Now 3 miles is a warm up/easy day.  And I certainly never would have thought about a half marathon.

Surgery Date 04-22-14 HW 2011 388(lost 60lbs on WW, regained 40) Surgery Consult Weight 1/10/14 - 367 SW 357 - CW 9/15 210.

Stalls are your body's way of telling you not to get too cocky.

Best of luck to you on your journey!!! It has been a wonderful and life changing experience for me. I look at my life so much differently now and have been doing things I never thought I would do (skydiving, hiking, whitewater rafting). Just listen to your Bariaric team and follow your plan. Also, the veterans on this site know what they are talking about so ask questions if you have them.

Hi

I'm from New Brunswick and had my sleeve surgery almost 2 weeks ago.  I don't think anyone could have been any more nervous and anxious than me.  I was like 5% excited, 95% nerves.   The surgery went very well and recovery is going pretty smoothly so far.  Good luck !!
