Low carb bagels, 120 cal, 14 g protein, 16 carb, 14 fiber, so 2 net carbs...
Just found these on netrition.com. The reviews are stellar, and one even cites that 2 hours after eating her blood sugar read 102. I know some of the low carb folks on the boards goes by total carbs, but some by net carbs. If you are a net carb type this might fit into your regiment. Now, no idea if it is a trigger food. About to order me some to try, and just thought I would share out.

Good luck to you....I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole~ I went off track when I added low-carb pita bread to my menu.....woke the carb monster and weight loss stalled completely until I eliminated white carbs completely again. Of course, carbs are a trigger food for me. They are THE ENEMY!

Let us know how they taste and whether or not they initiate any carb cravings. Once in a while, a bagel would be nice. I generally stay away from such highly processed foods. They have too many chemicals in them to be healthy, IMO. I get my carbs from vegetables and a bit of fruit. Sweet potatoes, for instance, don't have or need a list of ingredients on them -- "The Silence of the Yams."

I couldn't agree with you more psychoticparrot, particularly about the processed aspect of the product. You are warned by Netrition to freeze these upon arrival. I am not a huge bagel eater by any means, so I don't expect it to be a trigger for me. Since you can retrieve one from a freezer here and there, it seems like it will be a good option every so often. I was too cheap to pay the extra $4 to have it shipped in a thermal container though, so fingers crossed the product makes it to me in edible condition! Love your silence of the yams slogan!

I ate them pre-surgery, liked them really well toasted with lite cream cheese or peanut butter. I haven't done much in the way of simple carbs since surgery though. I want to get to maint. so I've been very strict with my eating.
