Pain Control
I too have foot and leg pain...that being said.
I caution you on using NSAIDs because of the bleeding risk. If you had a complication such as a PE or DVT and are on Coumadin/Warfarin then NSAIDs are a major no no.
Frozen water bottles/cold compress always help my feet and legs. There are other things out there to help with leg pain. I am Diabetic with Type 2...so there is some neuropathy in my feet as well that contributes to the pain.

You may want to ask your MD about Gabapentin (Neurontin). It works very well for nerve pain. Often Diabetics take it for their pedal neuropathy (foot tingling and pain). I started taking it before surgery for Restless Legs Syndrome (not exactly pain) and it has really helped.
IAM AWARE that NSAID are a no no as I HAVE NOT been taking anything other then Tylenol which my surgeon OK'd. As a former Massage therapist heat and cold therapy have been attempted as well as massage(thank you is a good suggestion) Awaiting Poditrist appointment, will ask about gabapentin. MYy job step average is 13,000-17,000. a night I havee a toddler so I walk/chase alot before I go to work.
