A lot of calories in cheese comes from fat. It's also what makes cheese delicious. When they take the dat out to makes low fat cheese, they add in other crap to make it taste  better. The crap they add are carbs. And it still tastes yucky.

Stick with regular cheese, but go easy. Cheese came from liquid, and goes back to liquid easily. You can eat an awful lot of it, and the calories will pile up.

What Grimm said!!!

cheese is a HUGE issue for me..

not worth the calories, IMO, at all..

the diet gets repetitive FAST..

but my new mantra is Eat  for Nutrition NOT for taste...

i do 1 meal for taste 1x a week that's it...

edited to add:

i don't know if your a newbie or not..

but LEARN from MY mistakes..

I had some stress in my life, took my eye off the ball and had up to a 20# GAIN!

It sure don't come off as it did in the past...

it's even harder than it was when I was heavy,

but it's because I weigh so much less than I did..

be warned if you eat the cheese more than on occasion..

watch like a hawk the scale..

try not to allow more than a3-5# gain..

I did, under the delusion I'd drop it like that,

and it just isn't happening as fast as before....

I like string cheese, mostly because it's pre-packaged. I get 100 calories and that's IT, no grazing on an entire package.

Pre-packaged is so important for lots of things. If there is a 100 xalorie package of cheese, I'll eat that. If it's 500 calories, I'd still eat the whole thing.

Single serving packs are great for us.

I love cheese and eat it daily. Weigh****chers brand (in supermarkets) has this AWESOME pepper jack string cheese that tastes delicious, and is only 50 calories, 1 carb, and 6g of protein per stick.

I like the Cabot 50% Vermont sharp cheddar.  Good alone or in an omelette.  I only use a small amount or 1 ounce in a snac****asionally- a nice treat!
