Diet for PreOp vertical Sleeve gastrectomy
Mine was 5 days pre op only clear liquids. This includes sugar free liquids, broth, suar free jello and popcicles, and clear liwuid protein drinks. Its just like this for two weeks post op. Im still in this stage then can finally move on to full liquids ( will be able to add milk, light yogurt, some sugar free pudding, creamed soups, and v8 splash. ) I notice such a variety here too.
I hope you're not asking because you want to do something aside from what your surgeon requires! You should follow your own guide for this.
That said, I was allowed 6 protein shakes a day for 10 days pre-op. "Yum."

Mine was 2 protein shakes and a lean protein and small salad for dinner (I tended to have it for lunch though). I was also allowed broth. I drank lots and lots of broth. I'd put it in a mug and sip it, especially before bed. It tended to make the hunger pangs go away so I could sleep.
It was worth it when after my surgery my doctor said the surgery had gone very smoothly and my liver was small. The losing 10 pounds wasn't too bad either. ;)
