Prenatal vitamins...
So, I would like to become pregnant....so Im taking prenatal vitamins..but am wondering..I substituted my regular one a day vitamin with the prenatal vitamin...just want to make sure im not supposed to take my one a day plus my prenatal...right?..that would be kind of an over dose..I see my surgeon for my 1 year check up...but just wanted to know what you all thought..thanks Nicki

You don't want to double up on vitamins because too much vitamin A can cause problems when pregnant, and two full-dose vitamins could lead to overdose.
The main reason to take prenatals in advance is to stock up on folic acid. You can get folic acid on its own and add it to your regular bariatric vitamin, that way you'll be covered until your surgeon/OB tell you how to adjust your vitamins.
After getting pregnant and having blood work done, I take a regular prenatal with DHA (fish oil), plus the B12, calcium, and iron supplements I was on after surgery but before getting pregnant. YMMV!
