Surgery Day
It's my turn to have this post! Surgery first thing in the morning. I'm so freaking nervous, I have tried talking myself out of doing it a billion times today. I always read other posts about people doing the same thing, It must be normal.. because I have wanted surgery for ten years now. So scared of the unknown, but can't wait at the same time. I really thank you all for helping answer my questions along the way.. and hope to return the favor to newbies one day. Make some room on that losers bench for me!
Age 37 starting weight 301lbs, 5'6. VSG and Gallbladder removal September 2nd 2015
You can do this. I did my best to talk myself out of the surgery for a few weeks before my date. It didn't work, and I'm SO happy it didn't. I'm 4 weeks out today and feel so good. I have energy, and you would never know I had the surgery unless you saw my scars. My only regret is the same as so many of us here: I wish I could have done this 10 years ago.
Good luck to you and your family. Please post as soon as you feel like it.

If you didn't have pre-surgery jitters, I'd be very worried. It's major surgery -- you should have at least a few jitters. After the surgery, let us know as soon as you feel able, that you're okay and how you're feeling.

Sending warm thoughts and prayers your way for a safe uneventful surgery tomorrow. My simple advice is to go forward, say a prayer, and leave it in God's hands. Everything you feel is totally normal and I felt all of what you feel now, but I proceeded anyhow and I have had ZERO issues or complications. Oh and I did I mention I have lost 100 pounds in 6 months! Looking forward to following your success as well.
