What other protein would you suggest
I am meeting with the surgeon Monday. I am trying to plan ahead for the purée foods due to allergies to seafood. I have checked out eggface, but I am still looking for food that is flavorful and appropriate. Recipe suggestions appreciated.
it makes 3 servings . . . . 6 hard boiled eggs, 1/4 c 4% cottage cheese, mild pepper rings and some juice from them . . . . puree and you have yummy, light egg salad. i prefer using less of what i like (4% cottage cheese) to get the texture and taste i enjoy.
i've also been substituting cottage cheese for anything usually calling for mayo.
homemade, pretend egg drop soup. bouillon with raw egg stirred into it.
1/2 c fat free refried beans, mild salsa, topped with 1/4 c shredded low fat mexican cheese. pop in microwave for 1 minute.
health wise cream of chicken soup w/2-3 oz. lump crab meat and a nice sprinkle of old bay seasoning.

I didn't do well with puree stage. I pureed meatballs and gravy and thought I was going to puke. So I went back to eating soups, but creamy soups like potato and cream of chicken. But I pureed and put through a strainer. I ate cream of wheat, sweet potatoes, sugar free puddings and for protein I ate pureed refried beans with melted cheese and Eggface's ricotta cheese bake. By week 3, I was getting in all my protein drinks which helped get in most of my daily protein. Good luck. Christine
It is a short period of time you will be in this phase- no worries. I tended to eat the same thing daily during each phase, and the 6 weeks were over before I knew it. Good luck!
