Weight gain after miscarriage...
So im almost 1 year out from surgery...down 80 lbs...20 lbs til goal...I had a miscarriage last week...I was 5-6 weeks along...I hadnt gained any during the pregnancy...but today I weighed myself and i've gained 5 lbs...this is my first gain since surgery and its freaking me out...I mean if I were pregnant I would expect to gain weight obviously...does anyone have experience with this...does it have to do with hormones?..
Oh Nicki - I am so, so sorry about your loss As for the weight gain, please don't fret about that right now. Your body is going through a hormonal upheaval and a lot of stress, which means you are going to retain a TON of water right now. Just stick to your eating plan and eventually your body will let go of the water and you'll see a big drop on the scale.
Hugs to you, sweetie

Yup, hormones can do the trick. A lot of women see a minor uptick on the scale around the time of their periods, and this would probably be a similar situation. Your gyno can probably shed some light on this, you can ask him/her at your next appointment.
Sending love your way!
