Consult Scheduled!
I have my surgeon consult scheduled for Monday!! I'm so excited! I still have some lingering doubts about this surgeon based on some reviews I have seen so am really interested to meet him in person one-on-one (I've been to his seminar) to see if he is going to be my surgeon of choice. If not, there are 2 other surgeons in the same practice that I can choose from.
I plan to have surgery the week of October 5th (hopefully the 8th) which seems kind of far away but yet really close at the same time!
This is more of a reply to your posting about questions to ask but are more appropriate for your surgeon interview.
- How many VSG's has he/she done.
- Complication/leak rate.
- Sleeve size and eventual capacity.
- Average percentage of EWL of their patients.
- Average regain rate at 2-3 and 5 years.
- What are their expectations from/for you.
This is a very critical stage in the process as it helps greatly if your goals are similar.
Hope this helps.
