How hard are you willing to work your program? If you follow the rules, faithfully, and move your body, you will lose the weight. There is no limit on the amount of weight you can lose. It's all up to you.
People stop losing weight when they stop eating the proper foods. They start "doing it their own way". I've heard people say, "I know my body better than any doctor". Let's face the facts. Doing it "our own way" is what got us to obesity.
My best advice is to follow your surgeon's plan, strictly, until you reach your goal. Is that piece of cake on your birthday, or that hamburger and potato salad at the cook out more important than achieving your goal?
It's hard work, but you are worth the effort. Don't let food control you. Now is the time to completely change the way you relate to food. Food is simply fuel for the body. It's not to be used to sooth stress or alleviate boredom. It does not have to be the center of every celebration. There are lots of healthy food choices that taste great if you give them a chance. Don't spend your time thinking about the foods you can't eat and start exploring the wonderful, new foods that you can eat.
You can do this! Make the commitment and buckle down!

Are you kidding??? It's AWESOME weight loss!!!! I would advise you NOT to compare your WLS journey with others. We are all individuals and we all lose weight differently. Just keep pushing along and following the rules and don't worry about being the "average" WLS patient. You will lose this weight in your own time. Some people take 3 or 4 years to reach goal, while others lose it all at once. There is no "standard". CARRY ON!
I was 338lbs. at surgery and reached 148lbs. in 13 months and have managed a weight range of 148-155 for near 5 years now.
Reaching goal is one thing, keeping the weight off you lost is another.

Of course you can reach your goal. Stick to your plan, do what you're supposed to do, and you'll be fine.
