Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? -- Tuesday
FINALLY! In April I'd gotten down to my lowest weight ever as an adult - 179! Then everything happened with my dad and I've been snacking and getting off track and I proceeded to gain and lose the same 6 pounds for the next few months. It's been frustrating, but I haven't had the brain power to deal with it. I finally decided that get myself back on track at the beginning of the month, reset my brain from the bad habits I've let back into my life, and get this weight loss going in the right direction again! And today the scale rewarded me with that number - 179 :D Yay rah!!
I found that I needed to reset my brain more than anything and, even though I hate that this is what it took, I went back to drinking shakes for breakfast and lunch every day, instead of just for breakfast as normal. I'm going to work on incorporating a solid meal back into my life for lunch and pay super careful attention to those bad habits and what triggers then. The main culprit for me was being in the car - I had set up the bad habit of snacking in the car which wasn't a big deal when I was only driving to see my parents every 6 weeks or so. It became a much bigger deal when I kept the habit but was driving up to help there every single week..
Anyway, on to the stats.
1: frankenshake
2: protein shake
3: samosa mashed potatoes with lamb
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: at least 60 minutes yoga class, probably another 30 minutes of yoga at home. I had planned to Bowflex but I'm feeling physically pretty crummy right now, so I'll probably skip it.
How about you?

Congrats on getting back on track. I think life crises are always going to impact our eating. But as long as we can get back on track, we'll do fine.
Breakfast - salmon
lunch - crustless mushroom quiche
lunch2 - crack slaw
dinner - chicken and broccoli casserole
vitamins - on track
water - ok
exercise - still jet lagged. I'll need to get back to it soon.

It is really reassuring to know that I can get myself back on track. I've been worried about that. It's one thing to never screw up, but it's entirely different to screw up and not just give up completely. So, in a way, I proved something even better to myself!

Psycoticparrot - I've had asthma my whole life, so I know what you're feeling when you have a hard time breathing. Fortunately I haven't had an attack in a very long time, but when I did, I found that staying away from any milk products & sipping hot liquids truly helped. Feel better!
B - Egg whites, bacon, mushroom & provolone
L - Grilled rib eye
S - Hardboiled egg
D - Crockpot pot roast over mashed cauliflower
Good for you for doing an assessment and then getting yourself back on track.
Breakfast: 3 oz leftover sirloin steak, Siggi's peach yogurt
Snack: 3 chicken meatballs
Lunch: Crack slaw
Dinner: leftover chicken thigh, roasted cauliflower
Liquid/vites: on track
Exercise: ran 4 miles (training for a 10-miler and a half-marathon)
Thank you!!

It's Monday so I always start the week off strong thanks to shopping and meal planning over the weekend
B: Muffin tin egg quiche with ham and cheddar that I baked last night
L: Ginger sesame marinated grilled chicken chunks (leftover from the skewers I had last night) and some romaine
D: Mexican probably my usual hamburger, avocado, sour cream, cheese and salsa on top of some shredded lettuce
S: cheese and almonds
W&V: On track
E: going to the gym tonight. Going to do 10-15 minutes on the treadmill and then on to legs
Congrats, Gwen! How exciting! I have been doing the same...gaining and losing the same 6 pounds. My lowest was 140.4 and I would like to get to 140 even...maybe even 139. I'm struggling with PMS eating right now. I can't believe how I crave carbs during this time of the month.
B: yogurt and granola
Snack: popcorn :( I love the stuff.
L: chicken thigh (I had salami and cheese but my daughter ate it first)
D: Taco Tuesday! I just eat it without the shell. I made homemade salsa from my fresh garden veggies and it is delicious!
Water: behind because I was snacking on popcorn
Vites: on track
Exercise: 25 minutes on the bike this morning
