Welcome! It sounds like you are already coming from a great mindset of this being a tool to help level the playing field. I am two months out now and I am so happy with my decision. I wouldn't change a thing and I have zero regrets. I was able to go to the fair with my 8 year old and husband just 5 days after surgery. Of course as any one will tell you here, keep yourself moving and walking after surgery as soon as they clear you to do so. Take it easy at home but keep up the walking there as well. Take home some of the small medicine cups if you can from the hospital and set a timer or watch the clock to keep sipping as much as possible. Don't be afraid to ask for anti nausea medication or pain medication in the hospital. Don't be afraid if you have regrets the 2nd or 3rd day, it will pass and you'll feel great and like yourself before you know it!
