Well... I just sent my daughter ("my baby") off to college today!! I am feeling an incredible  amount of sadness right now.  But I am glad my weight loss journey is beginning now as it gives me a chance for me to focus on  myself for the first time in a very long time. Just looking for some encouragement...support...or  hugs from anyone who has gone through this or is going through this....or anyone that wants to offer a hug or 2

I went thru it a few years ago, and I know what you mean!  Its a huge transition and a huge loss. Even when we understand it, and know its normal and that it will pass, its still painful to go thru.  Hang in there.   I'm sending you my very biggest hugs.

Lots & lots of hugs! We brought my daughter (one & only) to college last week. I do miss her, but I  just keep in mind that this is the time that we've been preparing her for a long time. So give yourself a pat on the back because you did a great job as a parent & as you said, concentrate on you & enjoy the wl ride. What's so nice is that you can skype or facetime her with all your NSV's!

Enjoy yourself!! Do things you have been waiting to do. I am a single mom and am so looking forward to having an empty nest. It means I have done my job raising productive human beings. I plan on traveling and finding new hobbies. Find your joy!!

Mike B & I are technically empty nesters. Our youngest moved out last September. Now, we have moved to where he is (this was planned a long time ago) and are staying with him until our condo closes escrow.

It does take some adjustment, but this new season of life can be great.

I went through this last year. I took my daughter off to college then my husband moved my son out the next day. It was hard. You can feel sadness.  Letting our kids fly is hard but it is so cool when you see how grown up they are.

I try to enjoy the peace in the house and how clean my house is when they are not here. When they come back home it will drive you a little crazy.
