Update from the loser's bench!!
Thanks for this update. I am having my surgery on Monday August 10th. I can't wait to be on the losing team!
The best I've felt since Wednesday. I was able to get down a whole protein drink this morning, some Jello this afternoon, and diet apple juice throughout the day. My pain level is very low today--probably a 4 on a scale of 1-10, and that's only when I stand up or move funny (gravity is not my friend right now). I got myself a nice foam wedge pillow so I can sleep better too, which is definitely helping me feel better. I was also able to shower last night (with help from my mother), which made me feel more like a human being than I'd felt in days.
It's definitely a process, but I can honestly say that I don't regret it for a second--I did at first on Wednesday when I was having all sorts of issues with nausea, but once they switched my painkillers and the anesthesia was out of my system, I felt a million times better. I just wish I could eat more than clear liquids right now--I'm craving something like mashed potatoes or a creamy, blended soup.

Someone from ym support group actually brought me some Unjury chicken soup, so I'm going to try that tomorrow I think. I appreciate your prayers very, very much. You will do absolutely amazing on the 21st!!
