hiatal hernia and sleeve anyone have it?

The doctor found and repaired a hernia that I didn't know I had at the same time he sleeved me. They kept me for an extra night. The pain meds took care of everything. Good luck with everything. 

Thank you so much i think my worst fear is the gas pain I have limited mobility because of a knee injury so I'm a little worried not as bad now because some people gave me great advise so I'm feeling a little less nervousness about the hernia and gas pain.I'm glad I'm relieved.

That's good to know thanks for the reply I think i just want to be informed and who better to let me know than people who have been through it are going through it I'm truly grateful.

I had a HH repair at the same time as my sleeve. No issues at all with recovery. Surgeon said swallowing might hurt. It didn't. I had no nausea or anything. Was in the surgical center less than 24 hrs then in a hotel nearby with a nurse for a day and a night and then home. I was pretty lucky I guess in every way. Wishing you the same in your recovery!

You know a lot i respect your response I've read a few of your post i especially liked the one you posted about the pyloric valve and the importance of getting protine first very interesting and educational.  I did send you a friend request I'm looking forward to my new life.

Hello,  I had both on 6/10; left the hospital 6/11. No issues whatsoever; no nausea, very little pain and only used liquid Tylenol. You need to be cautious when you resume "regular" food; some things seem to "stick" a bit, so small bites, well-chewed are key. It's still early, but this seems like an excellent decision for those of us who've struggled for years; good luck!

Thanks for the advise i appreciate it I am getting closer and I think I'm just nervous I know that it isn't gonna be easy and I will be sore maybe my knee pain will be more painful than the surgery lol I'm use to that pain.  I have a pretty high threashold for pain I'm hoping I heal very fast.  I want to get it over with and get on with my life!  And love my lighter life.

I understand. I have osteo-arthritis in my hip and a bursa cyst in my knee, so I hobble around. I'm hoping that the weight loss will help with those as well!  You're gonna do great!
