Terrified of Carbs

If there's a food that's a trigger, I would definitely steer clear (chips are my nemesis). But to totally avoid all carbs is almost impossible. As someone already posted, "not all carbs are created equal." Even a medium roma tomato, according to mfp, has 5 grams of carbs. For right now, get your protein in & if you can, then start by trying to add two tablespoons (1 oz) of a veg or make your own protein shake using your protein powder or with greek yogurt & sf almond milk with a couple of berries (strain the seeds if you need to). Don't worry, you will get there.

eating that little carbs you are missing out on fiber which is VITAL to your health and your weight loss.  dont be afraid of carbs, be afraid of fiber-free carbs.  look at the amount of carbs on an item, divide by 5 ... that's minimum amount of fiber it should have.  beans are the best.  berries also.  and of course green veggies.  and check the labels, if it has 'enriched white flour' or added sugar(in any form) in it ... avoid it!

I'd recommend not being afraid of any food!

At only five weeks out, though, I'm not sure what space you have for carbs anyway?  At that point my carbs were mainly from dairy and beans.  I didn't have space for veggies.  Even now, at over a year out, I eat fruit once every other week or so.  Most of my carbs come from veggies, legumes, and dairy.
