3 years 3 months Post-Op
Well after three years... I still have questions. I haven't been on OH in a long time, however I am counting down the days until the OH Conference! My question is... For the VSG'ers that are more than 2-3 years out how much do you eat these days. My appetite vary and some days I eat more and then less. However I have within the past two-three months been real slack. Eating basically anything I want. I'm up just a hair of the top goal weight I allow myself to be. My range is from 163-168 not passing 175 and this morning I weighed in at 176.2. So I guess its BACK TO BASICS!! It should only take a week or two to get back to 165 which is where I like to stay. I go to the gym about 4-5 days a week but have been slack lately, I try and stay at 1500-1600 Calories, >= 160 Carbs, 90 Protein.
I'm at 2 years 2 months post-op. Here's what a typical day looks like for me:
B - 1 egg, handful of berries OR 1/4 avocado
S - string cheese OR yogurt OR 1 oz. nuts
L - 3-4 oz. protein, veggies...if it's a casserole-type food I can do 1 cup
S - protein bar (if going to the gym) OR jerky or one of the above snacks
D - Same as lunch
I aim for 100 grams of protein per day. If I want to lose weight I have to cut carbs back to 80 or less (sometimes a LOT less). Calories for maintenance usually hover between 1500-1700 if I'm working out 5-6 days a week.
Right now I'm in losing-mode again. I keep calories to 1200 or less, carbs to less than 60 and protein at 100. And I'm losing slowly but surely.

I am 3 1/2 years post op. I can eat significantly more than first 2 years post op. Perhaps I should say I 'do' eat more. I can eat 1 egg over medium. Not good with scrambled eggs though. About 3 ounces of turkey (not so much chicken - 1-2 ounces if breast meat). 1/2 cup of most any steamed vegetable. A whole medium peach or 1/2 Apple. 1/2 cornbread muffin or biscuit, 3/4 pkt tuna creations with 3-4 crackers, 1/3 cup cottage cheese with 3 ounces yoghurt
I have discovered that I am still a stress eater. I can eat grab bag of Cheetos, lots of chips and salsa, etc. refined sugars make me feel exhausted about 30 min to hour after eating them. After that I crave carbs for 2-3 days minimum.
