im typing this on my phone so please excuse the brevity and/or typos.

So, I had my surgery yesterday morning. I recall the time spent in recovery being very uncomfortable. My hands kept falling off the stretcher and I had to hold onto things. Woke up with a very hoarse voice. Like almost no voice. Probably from the breathing tube.

I did my leak test this morning and passed with flying colors  the stuff they made me drink tasted like windex.  awful. The bariatric nurse knew and gave me anti nausea med before I went and said even though the radiologist was going to say take gulps, she said take sips and I swear that helped.

Get this- no gas pains (not yet at least). I asked my doctor about it and he said that having a drain helps the gas escape. Shots haven't hurt at all, and I'm sipping on water and ice chips and trying to walk

Definitely tired but feeling better than I did this morning.

Good to hear that you're recovering nicely, though somewhat uncomfortably. Your sore throat, nausea, and fatigue are all normal after this (and for that matter, any) major surgery. Although some sleevers bounce back after a week or so, don't be surprised if you feel the effects of the surgery for weeks afterward. Be very patient with yourself, and remember, Christmas comes after "the night before surgery." You've taken the crucial step to have the surgery; now the rewards will begin.

Here's to the beginning of your good health and fitness pilgrimage!

You are doing great! I definitely had SUCH a sore throat the day of surgery - and no water allowed until after that dreadful leak test. Let me tell you, that was the best tasting water EVER.

I also haven't experienced any gas pains at all, without a drain. I was so worried about it after all I read, but it was unnecessary. Hopefully your experience will be similar.

Every day is better than the day before, for sure. :)
