Never Lose Hope!
i had been stuck at the same weight for a year and had not reached goal. Everyone I knew had their surgery after me and reached goal in less than a year! Although we all know not every body is the same, I didn't beat mysel up about! While I never completely accepted that this is as far as you'll go, I maintained a glimmer of hope that I would get off this plateau, if there is anything called a "1-year plateau". I followed all the advice, exercise, continued to log on MyFitnessPal, eat more calories to trick the body, more protein, more water....yada, yada, yada! I never gave up up, and today, I got in the scale and have lost 6 lbs. since Monday! The train has left the station!!!! And I'm back on my way to reaching goal. What did I do different? I changed all my veggies to organic! What I noticed with eating organic is that I'm no longer hungry in the evenings, so I am able to substitute my evening meal with protein shake and a small amount of fruit!
Wow. Congratulations. Great work keeping the commitment for so long.
That's fascinating that organic veggies would make such a difference.
Best wishes,
Carol

It's entirely possible-- even highly likely-- that switching to organic is not a factor at all in your loss pattern. From a scientific perspective, there is no significant nutritional difference between organic and "conventional" produce. And if the concern is chemicals, produce can still be treated with some chemicals and still be considered "organic."

Well, it could be highly possible... Even highly likely, that the difference was in the type of vegetables I now buy. The store I go to only has certain types of organic vegetables, so it could be the change in selection! But, whatever the scientific or non-scientific thingy is going in, the focus is staying the course, and the change FOR ME came when I changed the type of vegetables I was eating! Does that sound better? LOL
