9 myths about low carb diets
I wanted to post a link to an article debunking some myths about low carb diets. A poster mentioned yesterday that he/she knew eating this way was "wrong", but planned to continue eating this way.
While I agree that eating low carb is not for everyone, there is a lot of science behind the health benefits of eating a low(er) carbohydrate diet.
I encourage every person to do his/her own research and make his/her own decisions about the best eating style for him/her.

Thanks for continuing to share articles like this. All I know is that simple carbs and too many crabs are poison to me. They take me on a path my new lifestyle can't afford !

carbs are not ok for me. Some people on here can handle carbs in moderation. I do not lose with carbs and even had 20 lbs of regain that I am now trying to get back off just from allowing carbs even though my caloric intake was still less than an average person. (for me) I cannot do carbs unless they come from veggies
Good article
A couple of the myths that bug me most are that we NEED carbs every day, and that we NEED carbs to fuel exercise. Just. Not. True.

A year ago when I started exercising much more vigorously I fell for the "need carbs for fuel" myth. And guess what? BOOM! 10 lb. regain and I couldn't kid myself that it was all muscle
The body CAN be trained to use protein for fuel but we have to make sure and rob it of the easy fuel first.
Really hoping I can keep this in mind when I start easing back into exercise post-plastics.
You're smarter than the average bear. We see so many that are convinced their workouts have led to 20 pounds of new muscle, and continue down that path.
Exercise is great, but too many people give it mythical properties it does not possess.
