So excited to start soft/pureed
Ok. I am just finishing 5 weeks of nothing but shakes. I am looking forward to eating things that are nothing but artificially sweetened dust. I am started putting some ideas togther.
1. Scrambled egg whites topped with a little cheeze.
2. Refired beans with cheeze and some spices.
3. Cauliflower mash with egg and cheeze
4. I am actually going to puree the guts of a burrito that I get at the farmers market and trying that in very very small portions.
I have a ton of recipes to try but I also know that I am going to have a lot of restriction and it isn't going to be like eating before. Well even chewing a little food will beat drinking 4 shakes a day!
I hope all of the folks that are new losers are recovering well!
Pureed day was the best day of my post-op life :) Here are the things I ate! https://www.myvsg.net/2-uncategorised/142-pureed-food-i-ate
What is cheeze? A fake cheese product of some sort?

I love your website, btw, Gwen! It has been so helpful!
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Be careful with the egg, a lot of people seem to have trouble with them early on. I know they made me terribly queasy at first, and I couldn't actually eat them until I was 4 or 5 months in.

VSG 2013, RNY conversion 2019 due to GERD. Trendweight here!
I am nearly four weeks post-op. I had huge trouble with eggs. I also was told to hold off on cauli because it can cause gas, so I've not tried it yet.
Then I tried pork. Ugh. It was slow cooked and diced (our soft diet lets us have ground/finely diced soft meats) and...ugh. Not for a while. I wound up the sickest I've been since surgery just from pork.
