Do you have any marketing or business experience? I was thinking of putting together a home skin removal kit. Include a scalpel, giant forceps, one of those cool red biohazard waste disposal tubs, and of course a DVD. I could do the manufacturing and distribution end. I bet OH would run our ads -- hey, they run the ads for the double-balloon-in-the-stomach people. I bet we'd make a killing.

Well you can't work off extra skin, sadly enough. I do think age & genetics might play a role as to how saggy you might get, plus if you're young & maybe if you don't have a lot of weight to lose, it might not look so bad, but I'm not sure. I've also heard that it can take up to a year after you lose all the weight for the fat to redistribute itself, so maybe you won't look too saggy?
You can always get that sharpei dog, you know the one with the extra folds of skin around its face/body to make you feel better. LOL

Hi,
I am a little over 2 years post op, and I lost 225 pounds. A lot of my skin has tightened up, especially my face and neck. My arms and legs got better over time, but they are far from perfect. I had abdominoplasty to remove the excess from my tummy. There was so much excess skin, I knew it would require surgery. I am so happy with the results. I posted before and after pictures of my tummy on my profile, if you'd care to see how much it helped.
I think a lot depends on how much weight you've lost, and how its distributed. All in all, I was pleased with how well my skin did at readjusting after weight loss.
best wishes,
Carol

Wait, Cappy11448... you lost how much?? I just wanted to give you this.....
and omg I've seen some pics of people's scars fresh out of surgery. All I could say looking at a picture today was (pardon me) "Daaaaamn that sh*t looks like it hurts!". It actually made me curse out loud at the picture. Ha!! But you're right after all of that effort you definitely deserve it so you don't end up trading one problem (obesity) with another (pounds of loose skin). I'm still pre-op but have already decided that I will get plastics if I have to.
