Thrive Question
I agree that having every vitamin and supplement in a single pill would be awesome. However, I checked the Thrive W out to the supplement facts. It's a nice multi vitamin blend, BUT from what I know (and I am no medical professional!) it doesn't contain enough B12, B1, or D3 to give you adequate supplementation for those essential nutrients after WLS. Thrive also doesn't contain calcium citrate which most programs recommend taking daily.
While VSG is not a malabsorptive procedure, many VSG patients aren't able to eat adequate amounts of food to get these vital nutrients.
Most WLS programs I know recommend 2000 IU D3 per day, not 200. The B1 level is pretty low, too. For the first 2 years post VSG I took 100 mg per day, then dropped to 300 per week. B12 recommendations I've seen range from 2500 mcg to 7000 per week.
My advice would be to ask your surgeon or your surgeon's nutritionist to give you the okay to use Thrive as your vitamin supplement.
Check out PatchMD. This is a patch vitamin- stick it on in the morning and forget about it. A couple ladies started using it and then had their labs checked and they were stellar.
