What would you order here?

Given you are on the east coast, you are probably already eating lunch, but for what it's worth, I would choose the crab tacos. The appear to be simple and clean. Eat the insides and you'll be good to go. Given what you posted yesterday, I'd stay away from crab cakes simply because of the higher carb level. Higher carb levels equal higher insulin responses which can encourage grazing behavior later in the day. Just sayin'...

It's interesting - I know a lot of people have issues with carbs causing cravings for more carbs, but I've never found that to be the case for me.  One small way in which I've lucked out :)

Mine varies. I can have thin slices of bread in a sandwich and get no carb cravings. But if I have just crackers, I get bad cravings for more.

Some carbs, especially carbs by themselves, trigger cravings. But other carbs, especially combined with protein and fat, do not.

I totally get that.

For me, I rarely crave anything in specific.  When I graze, it's grazing on whatever is available.  Thankfully there isn't a lot of crap food in the house and the crap that there is tends to be stuff I don't like or stuff that is inaccessible to me.  But for some reason there is a lot of cheese in the fridge at the moment so I've been eating cheese.  Since it's there.  (Which is funny since there's a **** ton of chocolate from Norway in the freezer.  But, it's in the freezer, so I can't hear it calling to me.)

Lots of good choices!  I default to the charcuterie whenever I can't decide.  Plus, they offer a pickled egg, which is amazing. And that's 7gm of protein right there!

However, I think the following would be good:

1. Med Chicken Sandwich (eat the guts)

2. Cubano (eat the guts)

3. Oysters Rockafeller (though not really in season)

4. Mussels - to be fair, *I* wouldn't eat mussels because they gave me food poisoning once & I thought I might ACTUALLY die...but lots of people really like them. :)

5.

That is one tough menu.

I think I'd go with the crab tacos (and not eat the tortillas) and probably order the Brussels sprouts.  I'm a fiend for Brussels sprouts. We ate at a food truck round up last night and I scarfed down fried Brussels sprouts with garlic and gorgonzola.  All day long I've been thinking of how to make them myself. Yeah yeah yeah, not exactly protein forward, but maybe if I add some pancetta...

Is it a work lunch? Would it be acceptable to just order a Crimson Cooler and sit on the patio for the rest of the afternoon?? Just wondering...

Haha, no.  :)  It was lunch with my partner and I even picked the place since we're on a mission to try new places in the town we've lived for 15 years.

I did the crab cakes.  They were SUPER small, but two was fine so I've got two left for later.  Very little filler, lots of great crab.  I tried the slaw, but it had apples in it and I can't eat those due to the fructose.  Tasty and my partner's meal was great.  Not sure we'll go back to this place, because it was just okay, nothing amazing.
