Accepted to the Program
on 7/7/15 8:34 pm
I received a call today to tell me that I met the criteria for surgery in my chosen program. The words, "Welcome to the program" never sounded so great. This week has been particularly hard emotionally, but being accepted and knowing that I can start the process made me feel so much better.
I'm still scared sh*tless, but after years of diet advice, failed programs, well meaning friends, family, co workers, and strangers, and doctors talking one look at me and saying that I need to lose weight, I am finally on my way to a solution that will stick. ( With a lot of help and dedication.)
I know just exactly how you feel. Congrats.
Now HANG ON! things start moving FAST now.
The next couple of months are a very important stage in the journey .
I totally enjoyed the emotions, the butterflies, the anticipation , the adrenaline , the fear itself.
I equate the feeling to sports stars. Before the Superbowl, or the Daytona 500, or fighting for the title, the closer It got to show time, the more pumped I got.
I used the time to learn everything about this BIG GAME I was about to play in.
So far, its been WAY more exciting than I anticipated . Some slow spots to be sure, but always upstaged by results.
For me, not only the numbers on the scale , but the near daily improvements in health and the little victories along the way keep me excited about my commitment.
Cant wait to see what tomorrow brings.
EASY? I think NOT! WORTH the fight! UH-HUH!
I love my sleeve!
