Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Sundi and I live in NYC.  I just had my surgery 4 weeks ago today.  I am still learning SO much about how much I can eat.  It isn't much, as you know, but my mind can't get that yet.  Learning my portions is going to be a struggle I think.  I'm feeling great and am down 23lbs since before surgery.

Learning to adjust to your smaller portions of food will probably be easier than you think. Up to two months post-op, when I had to leave food on my plate because my sleeve was full, it was almost like torture because my mind was saying, "Eat that food!" It was hard to ignore the impulse, but fortunately my sleeve made the decision for me.

Sometime during the third month post-op, something odd happened. It was gradual, but I became so accustomed to my tiny meals that when my husband and I went out to eat, and I'd see the waiters carrying huge platters of food to the customers, my mind started saying, "How can anyone eat all THAT?"

Adjusting to portion size will probably be a struggle, as you say, but before long, your mind will catch up to your sleeve and all will be well.
