Blood Pressure??
Had my surgery May 8, 2015. So far all is well.
Only thing is my blood pressure has been a little funny lately. When I left the hospital it was 145/90. My usual blood pressure would be 120/80...always...my post op visit was a little high about the same as when I left hospital...I asked doctor about it he said my body has to adjust and so will my blood pressure so I said ok no problem. Well lately I just can tell almost immediately when my pressure is slightly up..I always could as Im sure everyone else can. Im going to my regular doctor in a week to see whats up with this blood pressure. Am I the only person who gets these spikes in blood pressure?
Thanks
Do you still have surgical pain?? I know that when I had pain my BP would shoot up about 20-30 points.

Before my surgery, I was taking Benicar for high BP. About three weeks after surgery, my BP dropped so low that I nearly fainted several times. On the advice of the veterans on this forum, I called my doctor and he took me off my med. I monitored my BP over the next few weeks, and it began to climb again. When it hit 140/90, I started taking the med again. A few weeks later, the dizziness returned, so off the med again. I have an appointment with my PCP next week to address this issue.
From the posts of others on this forum, I gather changes in BP are not unusual after the sleeve surgery. Usually the trend goes from higher to lower, but mine has been bouncing around. Seeing your doctor is the right step, IMO.

My BP and BS numbers went up post op. returned to normal about 3 weeks later. Dr said that is a normal reaction to the trauma of surgery. It was only temporary for me.

Once you've fully recovered from surgery, your blood pressure may end up on the low side. Most of us suffer from low BP while losing so much weight, and most have to cut way back, or stop, BP meds. It's fairly common for docs to tell us to add extra salt to our diets.
