how to deal with the comments...

Yeah, because I work in a hospital, it was kind of obvious.  I couldn't really hide it. One of the comments was work and the other was church.  Two places where people are ALL UP IN YOUR BUSINESS. :)

Reach in really fast and pat them or poke them on the belly and say "Well, at least you never have to worry about that, huh?" and laugh loudly.  Then pat them on the arm and walk away. If they are smart they will realize they crossed the line.  If they are dumb they will sit there offended and not bring it up again.  Win win.  Its not the visceral reaction going on in your head, the tearing of limbs and gutting you want to verbally lash at them in your dream.  But its a firm reminder to them, with comedy and mirth, that makes them understand they over stepped their bounds.

Or laugh and make a joke about not wanting to give up your crack habit.  Its too good.  That's a fun one.

These are funny.  I might try them, if I get up the nerve! :)

I weigh about the same as you when you started congratulations on your weight loss I wouldn't put too much stock in what others say be happy that you now are 1.2 lbs away from your goal!  I will be having my surgery soon and im glad you posted I know everyone will be saying stuff but I know I did this for my health!  Nothing anyone could say to me to change that your now healthier and able to move and no longer a prisoner in your own body!

You're right, Elia!  I certainly wouldn't change anything I've done.  It's just frustrating that everyone feels like they can say things that are completely inappropriate.

Good luck with your surgery!

Unfortunately, some people just want to hurt other people so that they will feel better.  You are great regardless of what anyone says.

"I'm just looking out for your best interest", "I'm not going to pull any punches", "Let me be frank" all essentially mean that I don't really care about how my comment is going to make you feel.  Words have consequences.
