how to deal with the comments...
Yeah, JoeyJo - I wonder how many people who say these things see a physician as frequently as we do. I'm a nurse. I want to say "well, you likely have a throbbing aneurysm that's about to rupture but you wouldn't know because you haven't seen a doctor for 5 years. But by all means, tell me what you think I should do about my weight. I'm all ears!"

Oh, and I did not know that "bless your heart" meant "screw you". My ex-mother-in-law said that to me ALL THE TIME! Sonuva... I knew about "whatever", but not this one. Pffffft
Dreading this one. I am NO where near where I need to be - still not in onderland - but my mom is already starting comments. She has not been supportive of the surgery at all and is convinced I will get too thin. Gah! It's not like we aren't paying attention to our weight and health and need people to point this out to us. It's pretty all consuming for us.
I have just recently started getting comments (I guess now that I'm 90lbs down people are finally noticing? who knows...) and no matter what people say, I tell them that I'm working hard to get healthier and then change the subject. To be perfectly honest I'd rather not talk about my health with people outside my close friends and family, and the attention from casual acquaintances and work clients makes me pretty uncomfortable.
