How long to solid food for you?
VSGers speaking specifically to your own VSG journey, how long was it after surgery that you came off pureed food ?
I started solid foods in week 4. We didn't have a pureed stage. We went to solids and were told to take small bites and chew really well. I had no problem, but a few months after my surgery the program added a pureed stage and postponed solids to week 6 because others were having trouble with solids that early.
Programs vary a lot, so I'd recommend following your surgeons advice.
Best wishes,
Carol

Even within my surgeon's practice, lengths of time in stages vary. I was sleeved 05/27/15. Just creamy soups from full liquids were added for me yesterday. I'm working toward yogurt, and cottage cheese next. It will probably be 2-3 more weeks before I move to pureed. Listen to your NUT and surgeon. If you have to slow down, it is for a reason.

My team's plan is conservative -- four weeks of full liquids, followed by four weeks of purees, followed by four months of soft solids. It got tiresome but I never ate something "too soon" and found myself uncomfortable or throwing up or anything like that.
Great color. Really useful to comments are helpful in managing my expectations. Thanks all.

I was on full liquids for two weeks, will be on pureed foods for two weeks, and soft food for two weeks, then regular food as long as I tolerate each stage. So far, so good. It will be about six weeks to regular food for me.
