Feeling very grateful
Thanks Gwen. Yes, the pain from exercise is nothing compared to what I dealt with pre-surgery. My medical team is constantly after me to watch my pain level but it is a real challenge for me because there really is no comparison for me.
Gwen, you have been one of my inspirations to get into the fitness routine. You would probably be surprised to know how many times I have said something in my head about everything you have accomplished and how much it has encouraged me to keep moving. So thank you very much for the influence and hope you have given me just by being here and sharing.
Its wonderful to hear of your successes, your increased mobility and activities. Thank you for posting this heart-felt message. It reminds me how thankful I am for my sleeve, as well. Its easy to forget how far we've come!
best wishes,
Carol

Exactly! I still have plenty of times where I get frustrated on those days when following the plan isn't quite as easy or when I'm still dealing with the various doctors that are still in my life. That's when I have to focus and realize that there are more items checked off on the my "goal" list than there are not checked.
I'm going to have to come up with new goals soon and that's a pretty awesome challenge to have.
You give me hope! I am scheduled for VSG 07/06/15. I'm excited and nervous at the same time! My main motivation sounds very much like yours, joint pain and just existing and not truly living life. I have a 16 year old and an 11 year old that I have missed out on so much of their lives I want to reclaim my life and do as much as I possibly can with them! I'm tired of sitting in the car while they go in and do the shopping, or sitting at home while they go do something fun together because mom hurts too much or whatever.... I want to say thank you for giving me hope that I will soon be able to join my family in living!
Wonderful post I can relate to many of the things you said. I still can't believe how better my body feels after losing so much weight. I will never be cured of my addiction to food, but now it doesn't control me every single day as it once did.
