High PTH
I am 11 months post surgery and my PTH is also up..Endo did new labs and it's still up..She said she would watch me and see how I did and to repeat these labs and see her in 4 months...however, Friday I received a letter in the mail saying she is leaving the area and since she is the only endo here, I don't know what to do now
With the DS we have to be more up on our labs, and we don't trust our doctors much. Vitalady helped me. Basically, to get your PTH down, you need to get your D3 up and add more calcium. As your D3 goes up, your PTH will come down. I have my 85 yr old mother taking 1-50k D3 (dry) per week and 1-25k of Vit A. You can't get enough D from the sun normally. Look for your D3 to be between 80-120. My D is 82, PTH 22.
