Hello I've tried to post a couple of times but I don't see my post so obviously I'm doing something wrong. Well I'm knew here I had my orientation 8:30am on 6/2/15 stayed for a support group and then seen my surgeon at 2:00 pm and by the time I walked out of the room I had a surgery date for 6/29/15. I have not had a chance for all this to sink in, I still need to see my NUT and a couple of more apts before my surgery. I am a little scared and nervous about how quick it is all happening. I have other health issues that I'm sure the surgery will help. I would like to say all the information you all are giving is helping me somewhat.

Welcome to the forum.  I hope you find it as informative and helpful as I did.  I'm glad your process feels like it is running fast.  For many, once we make the decision, we want it done immediately, and of course it takes a few months to prepare.

The surgery was successful beyond my wildest dreams.  I started at 385 with a BMI of 60, and 18 months later, I weighed 157 with a BMI of 24!  The surgery doesn't make it easy.  You still have to commit to the program and follow your plan.  But the surgery makes it possible.

best of luck,

Carol

Thank you oh and don't get me wrong this is something I diffently want to do it just isn't giving me alot of time to think about it but I guess that is a good thing. I don't have alot of help at home my husband suffered a heart attack & stroke 8 months ago but he is doing fantastic suffering short term memory loss but he can do everything himself but I do have to cook & make sure he is getting his medication. So I am hoping that my recovery is quick and not very painful

In most cases, I think the recovery from the surgery is fairly quick.  There are exceptions, of course, but I hope you will find it a quick recovery.  I was tired for a few months, but I was also in my 60s when I had the surgery, so you may find it easier.

The process of getting used to the new tummy took months.  But it was all manageable, if not fun!

best of luck
