Good  morning everyone. Last night at support group one of the big topics was the feeling of embarrassment, how we allow that emotion to prevent us from doing things and ways to overcome it. For me, one of the more embarrassing steps was that I took pictures in just my bra/underwear right before surgery. Actually my best friend talked me into doing it and he took the pictures. I can't say that I really conquered the embarrassment at the time I just toughed it out. It got me thinking and so my question for all of you is during your WLS journey what embarrassing challenges have you encountered and how did you overcome those things?

B: Carbmaster chocolate milk/protein shake (pre & post workout)

B2: 2 Ham, Egg & Cheese Egg bites

L: TJ's Chicken Asada and 1 oz grapes

S: Beef Jerky & Cheese Stick

D: TBD. I have a few things defrosting in the fridge and it will depend on what I'm feeling when I get home from class tonight

W&V: Started

E: Walked 4 miles this morning and have a fitness class tonight

NEXT?

Every new fitness class I try is an lesson in embarrassment!  I'm so uncoordinated and clueless.  But, I stick with it and feel better and stronger for having done so.

I'm still depressed.  It sucks.  But I got to lift heavy things this morning and I have therapy in a bit and I'll be polishing my nails as well.  So hopefully I can stay at an even keel.  And I participated in some retail therapy in the form of ordering pens...  I'm going to be a student in the Fall, so I totally need lots of new pens.  RIGHT?!

1: frankenshake

3: flank steak stir fry

RIGHT! You totally need new pens. You probably need some folders and a binder or two as well. Can you treat yourself to an additional massage for some extra pampering while things are so rough right now?

I definitely need a pen case...

I can't do an extra massage right now, but I do have one scheduled for the 26th and then I leave for Norway for a week of actual real vacation on the 28th.  So at least there's that :D

But you are going and trying. Don't you think there are others in the class who feel the same way. Enjoy and take from it what you can. Be well.

I know that everyone else feels (or at least felt) how I feel.  So that knowledge helped me to stick with it and not let my fears overwhelm me.
