So I totally didn't realize I have a softball game after work, and I won't have time to go home and cook.  I actually don't even have time to go home!  I really, really want to avoid a take out meal from a restaurant.  Does anyone have any ideas of things I could grab from a grocery store and make in my car? I would usually get all natural turkey and roll it up with a pickle, but that does not sound appetizing today.  I really am craving something savory yet sweet!  All ideas welcome!

Jerky, yogurt, cheese sticks, Publix has decent chili.  I know you said you wanted to avoid takeout but not sure if you'd consider the inside of an egg sandwich at Dunkin's or Starbuck's, or Wendy's chili.

I tend to do P3 packs when I am on the go. My grocery store also has little to go packs with chicken salad, fruit and some cheese. I have done those before too.

I like tuna pouches.  Some of them have flavors that might suit you?  Like I think there's a Hickory BBQ one?

At times, I've purchased string cheese and cold cuts, and I wrap a slice of turkey or ham around a piece of string cheese and eat it cold.

You could also buy yogurt, or cottage cheese. Perhaps there is a food store with a salad bar with high protein things to add to the salad.

On occasion, I purchased some precooked chicken sausages and ate them cold, but you need a level of desperation to do this (smile).

Good luck,

Carol

I like jerky or nuts as an on the go option.  I had to pack a lunch today and I brought fresh mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto with basil and some sun dried tomato Wheat Thins.  The cheese is fantastic and not heavy.  It is one of my favorite fast meals.
