VSG on 6/9 - not getting the requisite protein/fluids

So today I started Day 3 post-op - & unable to get GNC Lean Shake down without pain - consistency is thicker than bariatric advantage shake which I am now doing - today I got about 65gs protein but only about 50oz of fluid.  Will the shakes go down easier in a day or 2?  Still have pain - coughing nearly cripples me.

You should check with your dietician; mine suggested that 40-50 ounces is okay in the first few days. Try 1/2 water and 1/2 Premier Protein chocolate; it tastes great and seems to go down pretty well. Take it slow; this is a marathon, not a sprint.

You are doing really well.  I am on week 6 and I've yet to have more than 20g of protein and maybe 15oz of water.  The only water I could drink was the carbonated ones but since I can't have carbonation anymore I don't drink water.

pre-made protein shakes are too thick for early out imo.  they are usually made with whey concentrate and contain thickeners.  stick to pure 100% whey ISOLATE powder and mix that with water or milk substitute ... these will be a lot thinner and easier to drink.

Is opulent has a zero carb  drink that has like 40 grams of protein. Buy a few at gnc and if you don't like them they will let you return anything.
