A question for the women out there.

I was wondering if any of the women out there have had this happen.  Due to the rapid and large amount of weight lost have any of you suffered from amenorrhea (not have your period).  I know that the last time I had a large weight loss in a short period of time this happened to me.  I was just wondering.

Thanks

I haven't had this issue.

I will say that my periods are way easier to deal with now than they've been in my entire life before.  I used to be mentally and physically broken during my periods and now they're a cake walk.

Yup, lots of people deal with period weirdness from the hormone dumping involved in weight loss.

I had an IUD prior to surgery, but I would still spot a bit once a month. For the first month or two, I had (nearly) full periods, and after that I stopped bleeding completely.

I had the opposite happen. I have really heavy periods now even with an IUD.

That is very common with an IUD unless you have the Mirena. Regular old copper IUDs typically result in heavier periods.

I had no period for 9 months after surgery, but now back to normal.

I am 7 weeks out and have had 3 periods already. I was always regular before. I have been off birth control pills a few months before surgery per my dr. But I can get back on them next month which I hope will help control this crazy mess.

For the first year post-op, my periods were 100 times worse. I'm talking pig slaughter. After about a year, things settled down somewhat but are still a little worse than pre-op.

I also have the Mirena IUD and before surgery I used to only have light spotting every few months (with the IUD, before IUD I bled like a stuck pig for 7 days a month).  Now post surgery I seem to be pretty regular with the monthly visits, but they're still really light and don't last as long.  Hoping that they go back to being infrequent.....
