Random question: Blood test immediately post-op

This will be random, but I've been unsuccessful in finding the answer with basic internet searches.  And I won't see my doctor for a while yet to ask the question.

Immediately after the VSG, like 24 hours later, the hospital took a vial of blood for "testing" to see how I was recovering.  Does anyone know what they were testing?  I was a zombie then, and didn't have the presence of mind to ask  Just wanted them to go away!

Was it a white blood cell count or something?

White blood cell count would be my best guess too.

White count, but also liver function due to abdominal surgery and that the liver processes out the anesthesia.

They probably did a few tests like the ones mentioned,  also your hemoglobin and hematocrit, maybe electrolytes.

My surgeon required a blood test the next morning. He was looking for signs of leaks/complications.  I could not have any water/ice until the test results came back.  That was a long day.
