IUD Question for the females
Did anyone get an IUD after their surgery? I got mine 2 weeks ago yesterday and I have had a lite period ever since (2 weeks...dang). It's not heavy at all but I feel so bloated and even gained a pound this week. Has anyone had the same experience after getting an IUD? If so, how long did you have your period?

Not an IUD, but I had an ablation in mid-April. I lost almost nothing from mid Apr - May. I was convinced it was from the ablation. Finally in late May my weight loss picked up again. Now for June, I'm down 8 lbs so far. So I guess I'm saying don't be alarmed if your body gets thrown out of whack for a few days or a few weeks. Just stick to the plan. I hope this helped even though it's somewhat unrelated.

I got my IUD before surgery, but my experience was similar. I had spotting for about two weeks or so before things calmed down, and I felt all bloaty, just like before a period, but for way longer.
Things did clear up, and afterwards I had no period at all until it was removed. Absolutely worth the initial weirdness and gawdawful insertion!

Which IUD did you get? The Mirena or the Paragard? Mirena will tend to give you lighter periods and some months you may not have one at all (that's why women love it!). The bloating and weight gain (from water I'm sure) are probably a side effect of some hormonal shifts. But that will even out.
Paragard has no hormones so wouldn't be the cause of any bloating/weight gain. And it typically causes a lot heavier periods.
