Don't like meal times! Have you experienced?

I feel the same way...well, I did yesterday. Every bite made me queasy but I had to push through it to get the protein in.

But then today I felt hungry all day. It's so weird. Some days I can't wait for my next (teeny-tiny) meal, and some days I have no interest in eating at all. I totally agree with you on thinking about food though - I am SO SICK of it. I need to plan each meal so carefully, make sure I have healthy ingredients I can get nutritional information on, etc. Sometimes I wish I could just grab a sandwich....but that's how I got to 250+ in the first place :/

I haven't had hunger yet, so thankfully that hasn't been an issue. It just surprises me that drinks or bites that I used to love even since post-op have turned into what I call "throat closers" - ha!

I am 11 months post op and still feel this way at times, especially when we eat out. I get a sense of dread when we look at menus. I know I need more time than others to get in enough food and usually end up picking at it like a bird because everyone finishes and I'm still trying to get in 4 oz! So I get a doggy box and take it home. At home my go to is Lean Cuisine meals. None of them make me gag and I can eat almost a whole meal in an hour. When rushed, I truly just skip it. Rushing through eating just isn't something I can do anymore.

I totally understand. Eating out hasn't been an issue for me yet. It takes me forever to eat my 1.5-2.0 oz though. I like those few bites. I think where I struggle is when it is just me and I have to find something at home. Sorry you are experiencing this too!

I'm just a few weeks further out than you, and I have been going through this same thing for the last week or two. I plan out my meals in advance so that I don't have to sit and think if anything might 'sound good' because most days NOTHING sounds good. My plan strongly advises not relying on protein supplements and to stick with real food, so I do try to avoid them if I possibly can, so when mealtime rolls around and I just can't bring myself to eat I will have a glass of FairLife milk or a snack container of cottage cheese since the flavor is neutral enough not to turn my stomach.

I figure that this is a temporary phase, and I am sure that a few years from now we'll wish we could revisit this stage when we're facing maintenance.

I'm sure you are right about it being temporary. I think I'm just Burnes out maybe on the same "go to" meals. I need to think about changing things up to help me get over this phase.

Good luck to you too!!
