My NUT say's wine is ok when I reach 6 months post op which will be in two weeks for me. Vets, is this a no until I get to goal? What do you suggest? I would like a glass of red wine but to be honest I'm scared off the affects lol

You'll see a number of responses on why it's not really a good idea...but ultimately up to you.

Empty calories, reduced alcohol tolerance, possibility for transfer addiction.
Probably a bad idea.

My dr and nutritionist have a realistic approach to this and other stuff. Everything in moderation. Everyone is correct they are empty calories. Back in the day, I would go out three times a week and have 3-4 drinks....now I go out 2 times and have 1-2. And I literally plan it so it isn't a direct hit calorie wise. I also pick something lower in carbs than red wine....Good Luck!

I think people on this board need to live a little! Enjoy life! One drink does not translate to an addiction or gain in pounds. I work out more than the average person as you can see from my stats. But thank you for your insight!
Good luck. I'm sorry people didn't encourage you to drink more.

Funny AND true. Why do people ask for opinions if they really do not want to hear them? That is fascinating to me.
