Home from the hospital
For those of you following my story and checking in on me, thank you. I was able to go home after 6 days. I had pancreatitis and wasn't able to keep liquids down. My potassium was low and my body was dehydrated. Still no explanation for the pancreatitis, but I think having it was causing me to become sick and vomiting after even ice chips. I was checked for a leak, didn't have one. Checked for narrowing or an obstruction, don't have either. So even though I have more than a few doctors who want me to follow up with them, right now I'm fine. I'm back to full liquids for 2 week then puree for a month. I should be starting my fourth week and starting some solids but another surgeon has changed my diet since I was vomiting blood. I feel okay a little run down and the barium and mylanta ****tail left me with some really nasty stomach issues. Aside from that I'm trying to sip water, take in protein shakes and be as healthy as possible. It was scary thinking of all the different outcomes this could have had but I'm so grateful I was able to get better and get home. Thanks again for your support and sorry for the delayed update I wasn't feeling well enough in the hospital to check the forums.
I'm so glad you are feeling better. It sounds like it was a scary time for you. I hope you have smooth sailing from here on.
Best wishes,
Carol
